Cheyenne style war headdress. 30″H with Drops 26″W. Headdresses like this were constructed of award coup feathers. Ermine and stripped hawk feathers attached to the back of the crown indicate the warrior was adept at battle. The red, white and blue beaded brow band depicting tipi lodges with blue representing ski and water, the red representing warmth and spirituality, and the white background indicating an active life “Dancing for the Holy Spirit.” The white beaded horse hoofs on the red trade cloth drops hanging at the temples indicate a connection to the Thunder Being as a personal reflection of how powerful the owner of this headdress is.
